Saints v Leinster preview

Very mixed reaction among Leinster fans to our first selection of the season. In some ways, I can appreciate the disappointment that this is virtually an “A” team, especially as the English champions have selected a near-full-strength lineup. Nobody likes to see their team get beaten whatever the stakes especially if it means a repeat of what happened at the same ground at the same stage of the 2012/13 season.

Rugby Championship: Thando Manana Previews Pumas v Boks

Both Argentina and South Africa are aiming to win Saturday’s Rugby Championship test match in Salta. Belief within the Argentine squad and from supporters appears to suggest that the home side considers itself as having a greater chance of winning than was the case in the two matches played in Mendoza against the Springboks in 2012 and 2013. Former South African representative Thando Manana rates Los Pumas as being better than previous sides but still thinks the team is two years away from reaching the level it needs to win Rugby Championship matches.
